Our proposed business model combines a one-off product purchase with optional ongoing services and complementary purchases, so customers can choose what adds value to their everyday lives. We’re evaluating customer demand, continued use, production costs and commercial viability as development progresses.

We intend to keep scent optional. An AI subscription would not be required simply to operate the diffuser. No final prices, subscription terms or cartridge lifespan have been set.
The initial market & route to customers
The first commercial tests will focus on smartphone-confident adults who value friendly company and practical assistance, people buying thoughtful gifts, and home-fragrance customers interested in the combined experience. The wider vision spans generations; age suitability, accessibility and safeguards need testing before any child-focused launch. Care and retirement settings are a potential later pilot market.
We plan to compare demand for JOON alone, JOON with optional scent and a scent-led premium version. Demonstrations, direct enquiries and supervised trials will inform positioning before larger manufacturing commitments.
There were 8.6 million people living alone in the UK in 2025, according to ONS. This is context for the opportunity, not an estimate of JOON’s addressable buyers. Existing app-controlled fragrance products and refill subscriptions demonstrate an established adjacent category; they do not establish demand for JOON.
Illustrative refill economics—not a forecast
A possible research price of £15 including an assumed 20% VAT rate would leave £12.50 before costs. If fragrance, cartridge, packaging, payment and fulfilment totalled £6.50, contribution would be £6 per refill. Neither the price nor the cost has been validated.
At that assumed contribution, 5,000 customers buying six refills a year would generate £180,000 annual contribution before acquisition, product development, salaries, overhead and tax. This is arithmetic to explain the business model, not an estimate of customers, sales, profit or investor returns.
What matters next is validated landed cost, actual fragrance consumption, repeat purchasing, customer acquisition cost and retention. Refill frequency should reflect use rather than unnecessary automatic shipments.

JOON is being designed for use with your personal phone. Compatibility and access details will be provided before purchase.
What stage is JOON at?

JOON is being developed for companionship, learning and everyday assistance. JOON is not available as a medical device or care service and must not be relied on for medical advice, supervision or emergency response. Any future health-related features will need separate evaluation.
What kind of financial help is planned?
We’re exploring budgeting, expense organisation and explanations of everyday financial concepts. JOON is not being presented as a regulated financial adviser, and personalised investment advice is not part of the proposed initial product.
Do I have to use fragrance?
No. Home fragrance is an optional experience we’re exploring. JOON is intended to work fragrance-free. Product details and suitability information will be provided before sale.
